Tazeen Fatma, release from jail after 10 months, Akhilesh says 'finally got justice'

Rampur: Tazeen Fatma, the wife of Samajwadi Party leader and Lok Sabha MP Azam Khan, who was lodged in Sitapur District Jail since 27 February, was released from jail on Monday evening. A total of 34 cases were registered against Tazeen during the tenure of the current government. Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam were also imprisoned with him. Azam and Abdullah are yet to get bail in some cases.

After giving her services as a teacher, she came into politics. Tazeen Fatma is MLA from Rampur Sadar seat. After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power, the entire Azam family was hit by a series of lawsuits. 34 cases were registered against Tazeen Fatma alone, in which it took nearly 10 months to get bail. Talking to the media on his release from jail, Tazeen Fatma accused the government of retaliating.

He said that I did not get any facility inside the jail nor did I meet Azam Khan at the time of release. After 10 months, I am released from prison. The judiciary has done justice to me and Azam Saheb will also get justice. After the release, Tazeen Fatma's pain spilt and she said that I did state service for 60 years. I was a lecturer at Post Graduate College. For 60 years the authorities themselves have proved my true loyalty. Can one become a criminal in old age after 60 years of service and then retirement?
