Karnataka: Yeddyurappa ready to take oath, will meet Governor in a short while

Bengaluru: After the collapse of HD Kumaraswamy's government in Karnataka, the exercise to form a new government has intensified. BJP (BJP) state unit president BS Yeddyurappa is scheduled to meet Governor Vajubhai Wala today to stake claim to form the government. Yeddyurappa has said that he will meet the Governor and ask him to take oath today.

B.S. Yeddyurappa is likely to take oath as CM at 12.30 this afternoon. Earlier, it was said that the BJP wanted to wait for Speaker Ramesh Kumar's decision on rebel MLAs. But now suddenly the process of forming the government has intensified on Friday morning. It may be mentioned that the coalition government of HD Kumaraswamy failed to pass a confidence motion in the Karnataka Assembly on July 24. The Congress-JDS got only 99 votes and the BJP got 105 votes.

It was clear that B.S. Yeddyurappa had cleared the way to become chief minister. On Thursday, Karnataka BJP leaders met the party's National President Amit Shah and Executive Chairman JP Nadda in New Delhi. During the meeting, Karnataka leaders briefed Amit Shah on the situation in the state.
