This country bans Muslim women from wearing burqa, know the reason

In our country, Muslim women are often seen in a burqa, the Sri Lankan government has banned the wearing of Muslim women in burqa. Not only this, it has been decided to ban Islamic schools in Sri Lanka as well and close them. A government minister said on Saturday that Sri Lanka is wearing burqas and banning more than a thousand Islamic schools. Public Safety Minister Sarath Weerasekera gave the news of this decision in a press conference.

He said the burqa worn by Muslim women or the full face covering is being banned completely on the basis of "national security." For this permission of the Cabinet has also been obtained and orders have also been signed. Minister Verasekera said, "In our early days Muslim women and girls had never worn a burqa. This is a sign of the recent religious bigotry. We are definitely going to ban it."

In the majority-Buddhist nation of Sri Lanka, the wearing of burqas was temporarily banned in 2019 for security after Islamic terrorists bombed churches and hotels. More than 250 people were killed in this attack. The Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who played a key role in crushing a decade-old militancy in Sri Lanka, promised to curb terrorism in the 2019 elections.
