So, if you also have any necessary bank-related work, you should dispose of it today itself, banks will remain closed in many cities from tomorrow. In fact, this week banks will have a continuous 5-day holiday from Thursday, August 19 to August 23. However, keep in mind that these bank holidays will not be applicable to all states at the same time. Holiday has been declared in each State on different days. In some states, holidays have been declared as per local requirements. Banks to remain closed in these cities from August 19 to 23:- 1) 19 August - Muharram (Ashura) - Bank closed at Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, and Srinagar. 2) 20th August - Muharram/First Onam - Bank closed in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram. 3) August 21 - Thiruvonam - Bank closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. 4) 22 August - Sunday. 5) 23rd August - Shri Narayana Guru Jayanti - Bank closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. Upcoming Holidays of Banks:- Coming to the holidays ahead, 28th August is the fourth Saturday of the month, which will keep banks closed. In addition, banks across the country will have holidays on 29th August due to Sunday.
