Petrol prices remained unchanged as the price of fuel remained stable once again on Wednesday. Oil companies have marginally reduced diesel prices. Petrol prices remained stable for the 32nd consecutive day today, while diesel prices fell by 20 paise. Diesel prices were stable since July 16. Petrol prices were last changed on July 17. After the price cut, the price of diesel in Delhi has gone up to Rs 89.67 per litre.
The same petrol price has crossed Rs.100 a litre in most parts of the country including Chennai, Punjab. Diesel has also scored centuries in many cities. Petrol has already gone above Rs.100 per litre in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai. In Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 101.49 a litre while diesel remains unchanged at Rs 94.20 per litre. Petrol is at Rs 101.84 a litre in Delhi while Kolkata is at Rs 102.08 per litre. Petrol has also exceeded Rs 100 a litre in metropolitan cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. State that due to different rates of local taxes like Freight Duty and Value Added Tax (VAT), the fuel prices vary in all the States.
