Batala: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh met the family members of those killed in the explosion in the firecrackers factory and tied them up. He was accompanied by Cabinet Minister Trupt Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Minister Aruna Chaudhary, Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunil Jakhar and all administrative officers of the district. CM Amarinder Singh first went to the civil hospital and met the injured and asked about his condition. He then reached the spot and spoke to the people of Guru Ramdas Colony. He also spoke to the family of the deceased. The CM then ordered to take strict action against the illegal firecracker manufacturing units operating in residential areas across the state. The Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the Chief Secretary and the DGP to close such illegal units. In addition, DC was ordered to estimate the damage caused to the surrounding buildings by the blast so that the affected people could be compensated. The CM said that, 2 lakh rupees have been announced to provide heirs of the deceased and free treatment for the injured. The Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the Chief Secretary and the DGP to close such illegal units. In addition, DC was ordered to estimate the damage caused to the surrounding buildings by the blast so that the affected people could be compensated. The CM said that the incident in the past will also be investigated.
