CBI raids 33 locations, including DSP-CRPF office in SI recruitment scam case

Srinagar: The CBI is conducting raids at a total of 33 places across the country on Tuesday (September 13) in connection with the SI recruitment scam of Jammu and Kashmir. The searches are underway in Jammu, Srinagar, districts of Haryana, Gandhinagar, Ghaziabad, Bengaluru and Delhi among other places. The premises of Jammu and Kashmir Police, DSP and CRPF officials have also been raided.

The CBI official has informed that raids are also being conducted at the premises of Khalid Jahangir, former chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB). He said that raids are also being conducted at the premises of Ashok Kumar, controller of examinations of JKSSB. This is the second round of raids by the CBI in this case. After registering the FIR on August 5, the CBI said that the investigating agency has registered a case against 33 accused on the appeal of the Jammu and Kashmir administration. There are allegations of irregularities in the written examination for the posts of Sub-Inspectors in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The examination was conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on 27.03.2022.

The results of the examination were declared on June 4 this year, after which allegations of irregularities were revealed. The probe agency had said that JKSSB had violated rules in outsourcing the question paper to a Bengaluru-based private company. The Jammu and Kashmir administration had set up a committee to probe the allegations.
