BJP's Arun Govil Files Nomination from Meerut, Pledges Support to PM Modi's Vision

Lucknow:   Veteran actor Arun Govil, contesting from Meerut on BJP ticket, filed his nomination in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Expressing gratitude, Govil remarked, "Today, in the presence of Shri Keshav Ji, I have filed my nomination. The enthusiasm here for public engagement is remarkable. I have received love and respect over here in Meerut, which is greater than what I received till date."

Govil assured his support to achieve the ambitious target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, "I would like to express my gratitude to the BJP and pledge my support to achieve the target set by our Prime Minister, 'Is bar 400 par'."

Responding to questions about the Prime Minister's commitment to fighting corruption, Govil expressed confidence, stating, "I am sure that just like he (PM Modi) has fulfilled his promises in the past, this too will be accomplished."

The actor, known for his portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, described his candidature as a "Beginning of a new inning" and a "homecoming". He expressed excitement about the opportunity to serve the people and stated, "Ram ji theek karenge sab (Lord Rama will give his blessings)."

Arun Govil, who joined the BJP in 2021, replaced three-time MP Rajendra Agarwal for the Meerut seat. Govil, who gained fame through Ramayan, campaigned for Congress earlier but decided to enter active politics recently. He will face competition from Samajwadi Party's Atul Pradhan in the upcoming elections.
