Veteran BJP leader Keshari Nath Tripathi passes away at 89

Lucknow: Former Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Assembly and former Governor of West Bengal Keshari Nath Tripathi has passed away at the age of 89. He had been ill for a long time. According to reports, he breathed his last on January 8 around 5 am. He was undergoing treatment at his home. He was also the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly 3 times. He was born on 10 November 1934. Pt Keshari Nath Tripathi was the youngest of 7 children of his father, 4 daughters, and 3 sons.

According to the report, he was admitted to the hospital on December 30, 2022, when his health deteriorated, but after that, on January 4, he was discharged from the hospital after his health improved. There his treatment was going on. Keshari Nath Tripathi was to be admitted to Lucknow's SGPGI today after his health improved, but suddenly his breathing stopped due to a heart attack. Keshari Nath Tripathi ji's last rites will be performed at Rasoolabad Ghat in Prayagraj at 4:00 pm today.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has condoled the demise of the veteran BJP leader. He wrote in tweeting, 'The demise of a senior politician, senior member of BJP family, former Governor of West Bengal respected Keshari Nath Tripathi ji is very sad. May Lord Shri Ram give the departed pious soul a place in his holy feet and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this sorrow. Om Shanti.'
