New Delhi: Amid the increasing cases of black fungus in Delhi, especially in corona patients, some medical experts say it could be a problem if clean masks are not used and remaining less airy rooms, while some experts say there is no clinical evidence to substantiate these things. Doctors at several major hospitals in Delhi said that there have been many patients, both covids and non-covids who suffered from mucormycosis or black fungus and have a history of adopting low hygienic methods like wearing masks without washing for a long time. Dr Suresh Singh Naruka, ENT specialist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, said the main cause of black fungus is "improper use of steroids". Secondly, 'I blame methods such as wearing masks without washing for a long time or living in basements like less airy rooms. So I would say that another thing can be one of the reasons for causing mukermycosis.' Dr. Ajay Swarup, Chairman, ENT Department, Sir Gangaram Hospital said that our body has mukers as symbols in the nasal passage and in the nesophrinjial area. He said that when a person's immunity is reduced, as in the case of covid, these mukers begin to grow and cause infections. It has symptoms such as bleeding from the nose and swelling in the eyes. However, he has instructed that people should not come to hospitals in a hurry and seek advice from a doctor.
