The second installment in the Black Panther trilogy and the latest film in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it has so far made Rs. 50 crore in India and Rs. 2700 crore (USD 330 million). As per the latest press release from Marvel, Black Panther Wakanda Forever's day three gross was Rs. 17.42 crore on Sunday. It earned Rs. 15.48 crore on Friday and Rs. 17.68 crore on Saturday. As the first high-profile superhero movie with a predominately Black cast, the 2018 Black Panther movie marked a turning point for Disney and the sector. The film went on to earn approximately USD 1.4 billion globally, defying stereotypes that action films with people of colour wouldn't do well in other countries. But tragedy occurred when Chadwick Boseman, the hero of the first movie, passed away in 2020. The sequel's creative team had to change course. Ryan Coogler, who is also the co-writer and director of the film, revised the plot to include the death of the protagonist and to introduce a new cast of Black female actors who will battle the villains in future sequels and spinoffs.
