Uttar Pradesh: Boat overturned in Ghagra river, 18 passengers were on-board

Lucknow: A major accident occurred after the boat capsized in the Ghaghra River on Saturday near Rambagh Ghat, Santkbir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. 18 people drowned in it. 14 people have swum out safely, while four women are still missing. On receipt of the accident, the team of district and police administration reached the spot. Taking cognizance of this incident, CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed the DM and SP there to carry out relief rescue work.

Giving information about the accident, SDM Pramod Kumar has told that as of now the villagers have learned that 18 people from Balampur and Chapra Purvi villages boarded a canoe boat this morning and harvested the paddy crop sown in two parts of the Ghaghra river.
