Mariani police recovered the body of a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound on his back. The body was found from a clump of bushes in upper Assam’s Jorhat district on Saturday evening. The deceased is identified as the son of a tea garden worker, Anil Phulmali, resided at the Nagajanka tea estate labour line. A handmade gun was recovered from near the body. The boy had left his house at about 2 pm on Saturday to go to the market. A search was conducted by people of the locality late in the evening to found the boy. The blood-soaked body of the boy was found at 8 pm by the people who immediately informed the police at Mariani Police station. The body was sent to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) for post-mortem examination.
