NEW DELHI: Manish  Sisodia sent to 5-day CBI custody for probe in excise policy scam.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was booked in connection with the alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the liquor policy, was today, February 27, sent to the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further probe into the matter.

Special judge M K Nagpal permitted the Central Bureau of Investigation's plea for the custodial interrogation of  Manish Sisodia.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi court had reserved its order on the plea after hearing arguments from the Central Bureau of Investigation and  Manish Sisodia's counsel.

CBI further told the Apex court that ‘Manish Sisodia has been giving evasive replies to their queries on the liquor scam. He failed to explain at least 6 contentious provisions in the liquor policy that were not part of the first draft.’

CBI also contended that changes were made at the behest of a liquor lobby in exchange for kickbacks to the tune of Rs 100 crore. It  also produced shocking evidence which they found in Sisodia’s computer, a draft note which shows that the profit margin clause for was changed from 5% to 12%
