Big disclosure in CAG report, soldiers in Siachen are not getting enough food

New Delhi: Snow goggles and multipurpose shoes are not available for Indian Army soldiers to wear. They do not even have the necessary food in high altitude areas like Siachen and Ladakh. Due to extreme cold in these areas, soldiers have to face many types of diseases. This information has been revealed in a CAG report.

According to sources, in the CAG report (Union Government-Defense Services, Army), it has been told that in the high altitude area, the daily quantity of food is not available to the army personnel. It has also been told in the report that calorie intake of soldiers has also been compromised. The CAG report was laid on the table of the Rajya Sabha, but it could not be placed in the Lok Sabha, so the Comptroller and Auditor General Rajiv Maharishi could not release the report.

However, Rajya Sabha sources claimed that the audit revealed the status of the Indian Army in high altitude areas. The reduction of snow goggles is 62 percent to 98 percent, leaving the face and eyes of the jawans unattended in high altitudes in bad weather. The worse thing is that the soldiers have to use old multipurpose shoes. Sources have said that the situation is very disappointing.
