CBI takes big steps in illegal mining case in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

In the illegal mining case in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on August 26, the CBI took a big step on Thursday and probed 25 places including Yarpatini Srinivasa Rao, former TDP MLA from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad, Telangana and some people' premises. CBI spokesman RK Gaur said that several documents, mobile phones and cash were seized in the search.

The Central Bureau has investigated 17 illegal limestone mining cases under the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from the CB-CID of the Andhra Pradesh police. Firs has been registered against 17 accused in this case.

After investigating the case, the CBI used satellite images to assess the damage to natural resources. Goud said the accused were accused of illegally digging in Konamki village, Kesanupally and Nadikudi villages in Pudugura mandal of Dachepalli mandal in Guntur district. He said the government had lost revenue of Crores of rupees from illegal mines.
