Patna: The problems of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the national president of the ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar and former CM of the state, seem to be increasing again. The Central Government has given permission to the CBI to run a case against Lalu Yadav in the matter of taking land in exchange for a job. The CBI on Friday (January 13) submitted the documents related to the permission of the government in a special court. The officials have also informed that the sanction to prosecute from the competent authority is a condition for the special court to take cognizance of the charge sheet filed by the agency. Let us tell you that on October 7 last year, the CBI had registered a case against Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti and 14 others for taking people's land as a bribe in lieu of giving them jobs in the railways. In a charge sheet filed in a special CBI court, the agency has named Lalu Yadav and his family as well as former General Manager of Central Railway Soumya Raghavan, former Railway CPO Kamal Deep Mainrai, 7 appointed candidates, and 4 persons. CBI spokesperson has said that 'During the investigation, it was found that the accused, in connivance with the then General Manager of Central Railway and CPO of Central Railway, appointed people in the Railways in the name of themselves or their close relatives in lieu of land.' It has been said in the charge sheet that in lieu of giving jobs in the railways, the land was taken from the people as a bribe. These lands were acquired at a rate lower than the circle rate and much lower than the market rate. These lands were registered in the name of Rabri Devi and her daughters Bharti and Hema Yadav. Please inform that at the time when this scam took place, Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister in the Congress government at the Centre. At that time, about 1.05 lakh square feet of land was acquired in Patna to the family members of Lalu Prasad Yadav in lieu of giving a job. In this scam, the candidates who paid bribes without taking out advertisements were given jobs in Railways within just 3 days. Not only this, these candidates have used false transfer certificates for the job and also submitted false attested documents to the Ministry of Railways. In this case, the CBI raided 16 locations of Lalu Yadav and his family members in Delhi and Patna in the month of May. Rabri Devi and Tej Pratap Yadav were interrogated by the investigating agency officials in Patna in separate rooms. Two teams of 3-3 officers each were formed for inquiry. Lalu Yadav was interrogated by SP and DSP level officers of CBI at Misa Bharti's residence in Delhi.
