Narmadapuram: Senior socialist leader and former JDU president Sharad Yadav will be cremated in his native village on Saturday in Narmadapuram district (Hoshangabad) of Madhya Pradesh. In the morning, the mortal remains will first reach Bhopal through a chartered flight from Delhi. From there will go to Aankhmau village via road. In this connection, information has been given by the private secretary of Sharad Yadav.

On Thursday, former Union Minister Sharad Yadav died at the age of 75 in a private hospital in Gurugram. The private secretary said that on January 14, at 9.15 am, a chartered flight from Delhi will reach Bhopal at 11 am with the mortal remains. From there by road, at 11.15 am, will leave for Ankhmau village of Babai tehsil of Narmadapuram (Hoshangabad) district. Sharad Yadav will be cremated there in the ancestral village. According to the report, Govind Yadav, former president of JD(U) in Madhya Pradesh told that the last rites will be held at around 1 pm in Ankhmau village. Shailesh Yadav, a nephew of the late leader, told that Shantanu, son of Sharad Yadav, would perform the last rites. Sharad Yadav has his wife Rekha, daughter Subhashini and son Shantanu in his family. Subhashini joined the Congress in 2020 and contested the Bihar Assembly elections on a Congress ticket, in which she got defeated.

Daughter Subhashini Yadav also tweeted and wrote- My father late. The mortal remains of Sharad Yadav will be taken from Delhi to his native village Aankhmaun, Tehsil Babai district Hoshangabad tomorrow, January 14, 2023, at 1.30 pm for the last rites. We will leave for Bhopal by chartered flight at 8.45 am from our Delhi residence. Sharad Yadav started his political career as a student leader. He won the Lok Sabha by-election from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh in 1974 by defeating the Congress candidate. Sharad was then supported by opposition parties including Jai Prakash Narayan. After that, he won the election from Jabalpur for the second time as well. The victory of Sharad Yadav brought him into national politics.
