Amritsar: Congress MP from Jalandhar, Punjab, Chaudhary Santokh Singh has passed away today. He had attended the Bharat Jodo Yatra being taken out by Rahul Gandhi, where he suddenly fell ill. After which he was immediately taken to Virk Hospital in Phagwara. Where he died. He was walking with Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi, meanwhile, his heart rate increased.

As per reports, the Bharat Jodo Yatra started at 7 am today from Lodowal in Ludhiana. The yatra was supposed to reach Goraya in Jalandhar at 10 am, where there would be a break for lunch. After that, the journey would start again at 3 pm and stop near Phagwara bus station at 6 pm. Today, the yatra's night rest was at Mehat village near Konika Resort in Kapurthala, but the yatra has been stopped after the death of Congress MP Santokh Singh Choudhary at around 9.30 am today. However, so far no official announcement has been made by Congress that the yatra will be stopped today or Rahul Gandhi will again join the yatra.  

Deaths during Bharat Jodo Yatra:-

Let us inform you that, earlier, senior Congress leader and Congress Seva Dal general secretary Krishna Kumar Pandey (75) also died on November 8, 2022, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He was walking with Rahul Gandhi and suddenly collapsed, by the time he was taken to the hospital, he was dead. At the same time, Congress worker Ganesh Ponnarman died after being hit by a truck on 12 November 2022. Similarly, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Madhya Pradesh, on November 25, sub-inspector Bhupendra Singh was hit by a car, after which he died. Apart from this, on 3 December 2022, 55-year-old Mangilal Shah, a Congress worker from Zirapur in the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, died of a heart attack. Mangilal was also going to participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
