In fact, Adi Shankaracharya, who re-established Hinduism, was born about 1200 years ago in a Namboodiri Brahmin family in a village called Kalti, 5-6 miles away from Cochin. At present, Brahmins of this clan are the Rawals of the Badrinath temple. Along with this, only Namboodiri Brahmins sit on the throne of Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath. You all must know that Adi Shankaracharya was a very talented child in his childhood. Yes, his father had passed away only a few years after his birth. It is said that Guru Shankaracharya achieved mastery in the Vedas by heart at a very young age. The story related to the birth of Adi Shankaracharya - Brahmin couple did not have any child even after many years of marriage. The Brahmin couple worshiped Lord Shankar to get a child. Pleased with his hard penance, Lord Shankar appeared to him in his dream and asked him to ask for a boon. After this, the Brahmin couple wished Lord Shankar to have such a child who would have a long life and whose fame would spread far and wide. Then Lord Shiva said that either your child can have a long life or can be omniscient. One who lives long will not be omniscient and if you want an omniscient child then it will not be long lived. Then the Brahmin couple wished for omniscient children instead of longevity as a boon. After giving the boon, Lord Shiva was born in the form of a child to a Brahmin couple. Because of the boon, the Brahmin couple named the son Shankar. Shankaracharya was a talented child since childhood.
