New Delhi: Union Minister Jitendra Singh has said that in view of the corona epidemic, the government has decided to extend the deadline for temporary pension (Provisional Pension) by 1 year. According to a statement by the ministry, in an online meeting with senior officials of the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare (DoPPW) and the Department of Administrative Reform and Public Grievances (DARPG), the Union Minister said that provisional family pension has also been made liberal. According to the statement, Singh said on Wednesday that the government has decided to extend temporary pension payments by one year from the date of retirement in view of the corona epidemic situation. He said that in some cases government employees passed away after retirement and could not submit pension-related documents. In the case of family pension, the Union Minister directed that the pay and accounts office should be issued at the earliest as soon as a death certificate and claim are received from the eligible family member without waiting to proceed. So that the families of such government employees do not have to face any kind of problem. Singh further said that orders have also been issued to extend the benefit of one-time compensation to employees belonging to the new pension system (NPS). Under this, if they face disability while on duty and are retained in government service even after such incompetence, the employees belonging to NPS will be given the benefit of lump-sum compensation.
