Beijing: How China oppresses Uighur Muslims is now well known. China calls concentration camps for Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang province a 'reeducation' camp. Here Uighur Muslims are forced to give up their tradition, religious practices. Now a Chinese woman has claimed that China has maintained a similar secret prison in Dubai to oppress Uighurs. The woman has been identified as Wu Huan. Wu Huan, 26, who was on the run to avoid being extradited to China, claimed that she was lodged in Dubai's intelligence jail for 8 days. She also said that her fiance was dissatisfied with the Chinese government. According to Wu Huan, she was held in Dubai along with two other Uighur Muslim detainees at China's 'Secret Prison.' During an interview with the Associated Press on June 30, 2021, at a safe house in Ukraine, Wu said she was kidnapped by Chinese authorities from a Dubai hotel. The woman said they then took her to a villa which they had kept as a secret jail. It was here that she met two other Uighur Muslims. Wu Huan, who sought shelter in the Netherlands, told the media that she was released on June 8 after being kept in a detention camp for 8 days. The woman said she was threatened during these 8 days and her fiance was forced to sign legal documents accusing her husband of harassing him.
