Palghar mob lynching case: CID filed charge sheet, crimes mentioned in five thousand pages

Mumbai: Exactly three months after the beating of two sadhus and their driver in Palghar, Maharashtra, Maharashtra CID has filed a charge sheet against 126 accused in a court on Wednesday. Giving information by the Crime Investigation Department (CID), a 4,955-page chargesheet has been filed in the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court in Dhanu taluka of Palghar district.

Giving information in a release, the CID said that the team investigating the incident, after interrogating 808 suspects and 118 witnesses, has gathered important evidence against the accused. The release stated that 154 people were arrested and 11 minors were arrested. Since then, no accused has been released on bail. The release stated that, 'Investigation Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police (CID) Vijay Pawar has filed a charge sheet in the court against 126 accused.

A CID official said that court officials are investigating the documents. After the documents are examined, charges will be framed against the accused in the court. Let us tell you that on April 16, two sadhus and their driver were beaten to death by a mob in Gadchinchale village of Parbhani district. The incident took place when they were all going to attend the funeral in Surat by a car.
