Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has launched the Hindu Endowments Department's Integrated Temple Management System (ITMS) in Bangalore. Chief Minister Bommai, speaking at the event, stressed the importance of temple management. He said that efforts should be made to track the number of pilgrims who visit the temples, and that the mechanism for managing temple assets should be streamlined. Bommai argued that a Master Plan is needed to provide amenities at the temples. The chief minister emphasised the importance of creating a tourism circuit, saying, "Temple tourism has enormous potential in Karnataka's northern, southern, and coastal regions. Monument tourism has a lot of potential, and the two can be combined." The chief minister stressed temple administrative changes. Because it involves the contributions of pilgrims and temple assets, adequate control is also required in addition to management. Bommai stated that steps would be done to address the issues encountered by Archaks and Priests. The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of keeping a clean and pollution-free environment on temple grounds.
