Amritsar: A special session of the Punjab Assembly began today following the ongoing tussle between the Governor and the Chief Minister. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann moved the trust vote in the House. In the special session of the Assembly, state Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa opposed the trust vote, saying bringing a confidence motion was a challenge to the powers of the Governor. Bajwa said in the state assembly that I condemn this on the floor of the house. Congress, Akali Dal legislators strongly opposed the motion of confidence moved by the Treasury Bench. Taking a jibe at the ongoing political crisis in Rajasthan Congress, CM Mann said that now they will teach us about laws. First, they should organize their home. After this, the proceedings of the assembly have been adjourned till September 29. Voting on the trust vote will be held on October 3. Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Sunday allowed the house to be convened on September 27 after days of the tussle between the Raj Bhavan and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over holding a session of the state assembly. After the Speaker's announcement, two BJP MLAs Ashwani Sharma and Jangi Lal Mahajan walked out of the House. Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan also said that the Business Advisory Committee of the House has decided to extend the session till October 3 as against one day earlier.
