Hyderabad: Congress leader and National Students Union of India (NSUI) president Balmuri Venkat Narsing Rao has been arrested for allegedly stealing a donkey in Karimnagar, Telangana. Police arrested them from Huzurabad town on Thursday night. Police said the action was taken on a complaint lodged by Telangana National Committee (TRS) leaders. Surprisingly, the Congress leader has been accused of stealing the same donkey that he used in a protest against Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao recently. Police said Tanguturi Rajkumar, a resident of Jamikunta, has lodged a complaint against seven people alleging theft of his donkey. Congress leader Balmuri was protesting against the lack of government jobs against the KCR and he had also put a picture of Chandrasekhar Rao on the donkey. After this, TRS leaders approached the police objecting to this, after which Venkat Balmuir was arrested on charges of stealing the donkey. Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy said it was unfair to arrest the student leader at night. Reddy also linked the incident to unemployment and said student leaders have the constitutional right to protest against the government.
