Congress suffered major blow in UP, know the reason

Even though the threat from Congress has been averted in Rajasthan on Monday, the party has suffered a tremendous setback in UP. Congress had filed a petition to abolish the membership of 2 MLAs of the party, Aditi Singh and Rakesh Singh. Both the rebel MLA's petition to abolish the membership of the assembly has been rejected.

On Monday, Speaker Hridaynarayan Dixit gave his decision after a long hearing of the arguments of both the parties. He considered Aditi and Rakesh as members of the Congress and said that they should not come under the purview of defection law on the basis of the evidence and the decision of the Supreme Court. After this decision, both of them will remain MLA and will be recognized in the House as Congress members. Both rebels belong to MLA Rae Bareli district

Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona had filed a petition to terminate the membership of Rae Bareli Sadar MLA Aditi Singh on 26 November 2019. He said that Aditi had participated in a special session called on October 2, 2019, in violation of the whip of the party.

The party has been continuously involved in anti-activities. Referring to the decision of the Supreme Court in the decision pronounced by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the whip violation is considered in the matter related to bringing a no-confidence motion or the policy of the party. MLA Aditi has described herself as a dedicated worker of Congress.
