Congress clean sweep in Himachal, wins all three assembly seats

New Delhi: In Himachal Pradesh, the Congress has dealt a major blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Congress' Pratibha Singh defeated BJP candidate Kaushal Thakur in the by-election to mandi Lok Sabha seat in the state. Let us tell you, there were also elections in three assembly seats in Himachal. It has also been won by Congress. Pratibha Singh has won by 8,766 votes. The BJP had won the seat by 3.89 lakh votes in the last election. The by-election to the seat has been held after the death of BJP MP Ram Swarup.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has banned the victory procession of by-election winners in view of the situation in Covid. The Commission is allowed to carry only two supporters while obtaining a certificate of victory with the winning candidate. Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, BJP is heading for a crushing defeat. Bye-elections were held in two assembly seats there. BJP is fourth in the Vallabh Nagar assembly seat. The BJP is third in Dharwad. Congress candidates can win both seats.

In West Bengal, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has performed well in the by-elections to four assembly seats and has won two seats so far, while two other seats are leading by a huge margin. Meanwhile, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has congratulated the TMC candidates on the victory even before the results are declared in all the seats.
