The Indian women's hockey team on Friday launched a fitness challenge to help the families of migrant workers facing trouble in the lockdown implemented due to the Covid-19 epidemic. To prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, nationwide lockdown in force till May 3 across the country. Women hockey players have decided to raise relief funds through public participation for the purpose of feeding at least 1000 families during the nationwide lockdown. The money received from public participation will be donated to the Uday Foundation, a Delhi-based non-governmental organization (NGO). It will be used to provide basic necessities for migrant workers residing in various places and sick people living in slums. Under this fund, apart from providing food and ration, people will also be given necessary items like sanitizer and soap for cleaning. Every day the player will give a new challenge and will tag 10 people and request to donate 100 rupees for it. Anyone who accepts this challenge can donate 100 rupees or more. We sincerely hope that people will support us for this noble cause.
