New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, India has seen 9,765 new cases of COVID-19, with 477 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, the country saw 8,548 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to 98.35 percent, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries to 3,40,37,054. According to government data released today, the total number of active COVID-19 cases in India has risen to 99,763. So far, the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has administered about 124.96 crore vaccine doses. The country's total death toll today stands at 4,69,724. The first death from the COVID epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 64,35,10,926 samples have been tested for COVID-19 as of December 1. On Wednesday, 10,98,611 of these samples were examined. Meanwhile, the Kerala government reported 5,405 new COVID-19 cases and 403 deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 51,35,390 and the death toll to 40,535. With 4,538 more recovering from the Covid since December 1, the total recoveries reached 50,61,906 and the active cases 44,124. As many as 64,191 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, it said.
