NEW DELHI: The number of COVID-19 cases in India has risen by 21,566 in a single day, the most in 152 days, bringing the total to 4,38,25,185. On Thursday, July 21, 2022, the Union Health Ministry reported an increase in the number of active cases in the nation to 1,48,881. According to data updated by the ministry at 8 am, the total number of fatalities caused by the viral sickness has increased to 5,25,870. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.46%, while the active cases make up 0.34 percent of the total caseload. In just 24 hours, there was an increase of 3,227 cases in the active Covid caseload. According to the Health Ministry, the weekly positive rate was 4.51 percent and the daily positivity rate was 4.25 percent. The total number of patients who have recovered has risen to 4,31,50,434 while the case fatality rate was 1.2%. There were 45 fresh fatalities reported, including 17 from Kerala, 7 from Maharashtra, 6 from West Bengal, 2 each from Assam, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand, and 1 each from Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Uttar Pradesh.
