A record number of people have been admitted to hospitals in Australia on Wednesday due to the coronavirus. After which the officials urged the business houses to allow the employees to work from home and also appealed to the people to wear masks inside the houses and get booster doses immediately. According to official figures, about 5,300 Australians were currently hospitalized due to COVID-19. Which is marginally lower than the record 5,390 recorded during the BA.1 outbreak in January. These numbers were already at their highest levels in the states of Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia since the pandemic began.

Reports say Australia is currently in the grip of the third wave of Omicron spread from new sub-variants of the highly contagious COVID, BA.4 and BA.5. In the last 7 days, more than 300,000 cases of covid have been registered. Even the officials say that the actual number will be doubled. Only on Tuesday, 50,000 cases of the corona were reported, which was the highest in the last two months.

Australia's chief medical officer Paul Kelly told the media on Wednesday that we need to work in a somewhat different way, at least for a short time. He predicted that the number of people arriving at the hospital was soon going to reach a record level. He has further said that working from home is a very important way to prevent infection.

The authorities have also issued a warning of further deepening of the health crisis due to the negligence of people in taking booster doses. In Australia, 95% of people above the age of 16 have taken the vaccine dose so far. This has helped keep Australia's total coronavirus cases below just 90 million. So far, 10,845 people have lost their lives due to corona in Australia. In Australia, only 71% have received three or more doses of the vaccine.
