New Delhi: According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 913 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in India in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of daily new infections below 1000 for the first time in 715 days. After a 714-day hiatus, the number of active cases dipped below 13,000 for the first time. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 5,21,358 people throughout the country, with 13 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. The active caseload, according to the government, is 12,597, accounting for 0.03 percent of the country's total positive cases. The positivity rate for the day is 0.29 percent. After 714 days, there were less than 13,000 active cases. Meanwhile, the ministry reported that 1,316 patients had recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,24,95,089 people. According to the government, 79.10 crore COVID tests have been conducted in the country thus far, with 3,14,823 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. So far, 184.70 crore vaccine doses have been given out as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
