Maharashtra: The Centre said in a statement last Sunday that the killing of poultry birds in Maharashtra and Haryana is still continuing. Further, it has also been stated that new cases of bird flu have been confirmed in poultry in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh besides Mumbai. In addition, bird flu has been confirmed so far in 11 states-Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Gujarat. The Centre has also requested the States to reconsider its decisions to ban the sale of poultry birds and related products and to ensure that the non-infected areas/areas are not infected. Allow the sale of these products from the States. Further, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal husbandry and dairying has also issued a statement. The statement also said, "Bird flu cases have been confirmed in poultry on Kheda Road in Mandsaur district of Central Poultry Development Organisation (CPDO), Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh". Further, the statement also said, "Not only in poultry, the disease is confirmed in crows and owls in Panna, Sanchi, Raisen and Balaghat, and pigeon in Surepur and Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh. ' In Bastar, bird flu has been confirmed in the Crow and pigeons in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. In addition, bird flu has also been confirmed in the samples of crow from Haridwar and Lanshaun in Uttarakhand. The Maharashtra Animal Husbandry Department has started a toll-free helpline to report any abnormal death of birds to the farmers.
