Death Threats to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma; Jail Officials Suspended

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma received death threats, prompting the suspension of Om Prakash, the acting superintendent of Jaipur Central Jail. The incident led to the earlier suspension of head wardens Ajay Singh Rathore and Manish Yadav on Wednesday night.

The threat, originating from Jaipur Central Jail, was conveyed through a call made to the police control room. The caller issued a death threat to CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, with reports indicating that the call was made by a prisoner within Central Jail. Police are actively investigating the matter.

Upon tracing the phone's location, authorities determined that the call originated from inside Jaipur Central Jail. The threatening call, reportedly made by a prisoner serving a sentence in a POCSO case, raised concerns among the police administration.

The call occurred around 10 AM on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. Officials visited Central Jail, where they seized mobile phones belonging to the two prisoners involved in making the threatening call.

The police are currently interrogating the prisoner further, seeking to understand the motive behind the death threat issued to CM Bhajan Lal Sharma. The incident has raised questions about security protocols within the jail.
