Aizawl: The Myanmar conflict has taken a troubling turn as 278 soldiers from the Myanmar Army sought refuge in Mizoram, a northeastern state of India. Escalating hostilities between Myanmar’s ruling junta-backed forces and rebel groups have led to a mass exodus of civilians and military personnel, with this latest incident unfolding near the Karma River.
A clash near the Karma River forced armed Myanmar soldiers to cross into Indian territory through the Bandukba area of Lawngtlai District, Mizoram. Fully armed and equipped, the soldiers were escorted to an Assam Rifles camp, underscoring the complexity of the situation.
