Delhi rape and murder case: Crime Branch to visit spot today, forensic experts to gather evidence

New Delhi: A crime branch team will go on a chance-a-incident today (Friday) in connection with the alleged rape, murder, and burning of a 9-year-old girl in the Cantt area of the national capital. The crime branch team will be accompanied by forensic experts as well as investigating officers in the case. The accused can then be taken to the crematorium and the crime scene can also be recreated.

A team of forensic experts from the crime branch will visit the crematorium and collect evidence. The accused had claimed to have died of electrocution at the crematorium itself and then the body was burnt there. In addition, the crime branch team will also collect evidence on the roads from the girl's house to the crematorium and interrogate those related to the case. The news of the death of a 9-year-old girl was reported in the Delhi Cantt area on Sunday.

The victim's family has alleged that the girl was raped and then murdered. Delhi Police was investigating the case after the incident came to light, which has now been transferred to the crime branch and so far four persons have been arrested in the case, who is currently in judicial custody. A case has been registered under the Murder and Pocso Act in this regard.
