Dhanbad: A 20-member CBI team SIT from Delhi has come into action a day after taking over the investigation into the death of Dhanbad Justice Uttam Anand. Officials have informed in this regard on Thursday. A CBI official related to the incident said that the SIT led by the Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Shukla had reached Dhanbad on Thursday and started collecting documents of the case registered by Jharkhand police SIT.

He said the agency is also collecting details of the investigation conducted by the state police and will soon meet justice's wife and take her statement. The official also said that the agency visited the incident and also met several people related to the investigation at Dhanbad Sadar police station. State that Additional District and Sessions Judge Anand was hit by an autorickshaw during a morning walk on July 28, killing him, and police had registered a case against an unidentified auto driver on his wife's complaint.

On the other hand, the Jharkhand government had constituted an SIT to investigate the case after CCTV footage surfaced. But he later recommended a CBI investigation into the death.
