DGC Open is going to start from this day after three years at Delhi Golf Club

International tournament is returning at Delhi Golf Club after a long gap of three years due to Corona. The Asian Tour event DGC Open is going to be played at Delhi Golf Club from March 24 to 27, in which the first edition will carry a total prize money of $ 5 lakh and the winner will be given 90 thousand dollars. The announcement was made at the DGC Open at Delhi Golf Club, during which nine-time major champion Gary Player, who redesigned the golf club, is also going to attend.

Organizers have said about this that players from 21 countries, including 19 champions of the Asian Tour, are going to participate in it. The contenders for the title include India's Shiv Kapoor, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Khalin Joshi, Rory Hai, Rahil Gangji, SSP Chaurasia and Rashid Khan and Paul Peterson of America. The organizers have further said that this is the first international tournament to be held in India after a gap of 3 years. Delhi Golf Club also completed its renovation in 2019 and was redesigned by legendary player Gary Player and will be a part of the tournament this week.

The last Asian Tour event on this course was played in 2018. Shiv Kapoor and Viraj Madappa were also present at the press conference. A total of 138 players including 6 amateurs are going to participate in the tournament. After two rounds a cut is made and the top 65 earners qualify for the next two rounds. 56-year-old Mukesh Kumar will also participate in the tournament, who is also the oldest player at the age of 56. Delhi Golf Club is dedicating the first DGC Open to Late Siddharth Sriram who was the former President of Delhi Golf Club. The winning trophy of the tournament was also unveiled on the occasion.
