DGCA extended the suspension of international commercial flights till 30 Nov

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has extended the suspension of international commercial flights till 30 November 2020, according to a report by Moneycontrol, citing a notification from the regulator verified by them. The extension has been made in light of a re-surge in COVID-19 cases in Europe, it said.

The notification from Directorate General of Civil Aviation said according to the report which read:- "In partial modification of circular dated 26-06-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of 30th November 2020,"

However, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation stated that the above restrictions will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specially approved by it. Further, the aviation regulator said that international scheduled flights may be permitted on selected routes by the competent authority on case to case basis. The regulator has not made a public statement yet. The United States, France, Russia, and other countries have been reporting a record number of Covid-19 infections in the wave of new cases washing over parts of the Northern Hemisphere.

Looking to the corona scale, In Europe, a series of countries have reported a record increase in cases, led by France, which posted 50,000 per day cases for the first time on Sunday and the death toll at 250,000 levels.
