New Delhi: Bharat Biotech's Nasal Covid vaccine has received emergency use authorization for people aged 18 years and above in India. However, DGCI has directed its controlled use. Bharat Biotech International Limited has developed the nasal vaccine iNCOVACCC (BBV154), which will be administered exclusively as a booster dose. It will be used as a heterologous booster dose, the company said on Monday (November 28). According to a press release issued by the vaccine maker, iNCOVACC is the world's first vaccine to be approved both in the primary series and as a heterologous booster dose. The press release said that in phase 3 clinical trial, the vaccine recipients were tested and after the positive results, it has been specially developed to be inserted through a drop in the nose. Bharat Biotech says that this vaccine given through the nose has been specially developed according to low and middle-income countries. Bharat Biotech's nasal vaccine had earlier received emergency restricted use authorization of the first two doses for people aged 18 years and above. The third trial of this vaccine has been done on 3,100 people at 14 trial sites, in which the safety, and immunity of the vaccine were examined. iNCOVACCC has been developed in partnership with the University of Washington. iNCOVACCC has dual advantages. The special thing is that the development of an intranasal vaccine will help in the manufacture of variant-specific vaccines, while mass immunization can be done with the nasal vaccine, which can reduce the risk of other variants being born. This could prove to be an important weapon in mass vaccination during the pandemic. The company has not yet announced the dates of the launch of the vaccine after approval, what will be its price, and where this vaccine will be administered. It is believed that Bharat Biotech can give information in this regard in a few days. Sidhu can come out of jail in 8 months! Know how?
