DMK leader Shivaji Krishnamoorthy suspended for threatening to kill Governor

Chennai: Ruling DMK spokesperson Shivaji Krishnamoorthy, who threatened to kill Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, has been suspended from the party. The party has temporarily removed him from all responsibilities with immediate effect after he made controversial statements against the governor.

Let us tell you that Krishnamurti had given a controversial statement saying, 'If the governor refuses to take Ambedkar's name in his assembly speech, don't I have the right to attack him? If you (governor) don't read the speech given by the Tamil Nadu government, then go to Kashmir and we will send terrorists to gun you down.' On this statement of the DMK spokesperson, Prasanna Ramasamy, Deputy Secretary to the Governor, lodged a complaint with the Police Commissioner of Chennai. The complaint said that the DMK leader used the most hateful and derogatory language against the Tamil Nadu Governor.

However, the party has not yet taken any action against DMK's organizing secretary RS Bharti. Bharti had compared the Governor to Panipuri sellers. Bharti had said, 'I had already said that those who sell Sonpapdi and Panipuri do not know the pride of Tamil Nadu. Many people have come here from Bihar and I think the governor has also come by train like this.'
