Encounter breaks out between Security forces and militants in Baramulla

In Jammu and Kashmir, a major encounter has been reported between security forces and militants in North Kashmir's Baramulla district amid ongoing Amarnath Yatra. In fact, the security forces had received information about the presence of terrorists. Security forces launched a search operation in the area. Two terrorists have been cordoned off in a joint operation by Army, Police and CRPF. The encounter between the two is going on.

According to sources, two to three terrorists were reported to be holed up in Baramulla by the army. Following the information, a team of Army, CRPF and State Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. In the meantime, the hiding terrorists retaliated by firing. The exchange of fire is still going on. No casualties have been reported so far. During the operation, the militants resorted heavy firing on the jawans.

Earlier on Tuesday, Delhi Police arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist from Srinagar. The terrorist's name is Bashir Ahmed. Lis sources said that in view of heavy rains in the valley, terrorists are trying to infiltrate a large number from across the border.  In Sopore, the miscreants have been disrupting the operation during encounters earlier, blocking any rumours and shutting down internet services in order to maintain law and order.
