IL&FS Scam Case: Raj Thackeray To Enquire ED, Security Arrangements kept tight!

Mumbai: Before appearing before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the ILFS scam case, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chairman Raj Thackeray has urged the activists to maintain peace. Raj Thackeray is scheduled to appear before the ED on August 22 in the Kohinoor building case.

Replying to a question on Raj Thackeray's muscle gathering in Mumbai, the Mumbai Police said, "Security arrangements will be made on behalf of the police, especially outside the Enforcement Directorate building. The Dadar Manse office and the ED office are our focus area," he said.

Mumbai Police has said, "The ED is not allowed to gather protesters outside the office in any way. "Security forces will be deployed to ensure that the law and order situation does not deteriorate," MNS chief Raj Thackeray urged the activists to maintain peace for August 22.

According to sources, during the course of an investigation into a money laundering case, ED found that the Kohinoor building was used to divert money. Investment and shareholding in the Kohinoor building were done by Raj Thackeray and Rajan Shirodkar for Rs 421 crore.

ED was discovered during the investigation into the IL&FS scam in connection with the deal. ED will now interrogate Raj Thackeray and Umesh Joshi to find out what is the relationship between the Kohinoor building and the IL&FS scam and the manner in which crores of rupees have been diverted.
