Dodoma: Tanzania's oil tanker explosion kills 2 in 2016 The death toll in an oil tanker explosion in Morogoro, located in Tanzania's eastern region, has risen to 97. An official confirmed this on Monday. The tanker exploded while the oil leaking from the tanker was being collected by the people.

According to the news agency Xinhua, Eminiel Elgasha, spokesman for the Muhambeli National Hospital, said that three more people were injured in the oil tanker explosion on Sunday and Monday, bringing the death toll to 97. Eligasha said 18 people who were injured in the August 10 incident are still in critical condition in hospital. "The doctors admitted to the ICU of the hospital are whole-life-threatening to save the lives of these 18 people."

It is worth mentioning here that the Muhambili National Hospital is the main government hospital located in Daruss Salam, the economic capital of Tanzania. In fact, 60 people were killed on the spot in an explosion in Morogoro area, 200 km west of Dar Es Salaam, on August 10. Many people were badly injured.
