Videocon Case: ED can seize Chanda Kochhar's property, order will be issued in next two days

New Delhi: Former CMD of ICICI Bank, Chanda Kochhar, who was sacked in the Videocon bribery case, is not taking the name of the problems. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) may soon attach the property, property of Chanda and her husband Deepak Kochhar, under the PMLA. The Kochhar couple currently has movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 900 crore. Out of this, assets worth 100 crores can be attached.

The total assets include Chanda Kochhar's investment in apartments, shares and other schemes in South Mumbai, bank accounts and Daftagar of her husband's company NewPower Renewables. According to the Business Standard report, the ED can issue a seizure order within the next one to two days. Chanda Kochhar's brother-in-law Rajiv Kochhar was also questioned several times by the ED. At present, the court has given permission to remove the lookout notice against Rajiv and go to Singapore.

The ED had asked Chanda and her husband Deepak Kochhar, who had been removed as the CEO of the bank, in this scam of Rs 1875 crore and recorded their statements. For this, Chanda and Deepak had to appear several times in the agency's office.
