Exit Poll 2024: All Eyes on Lok Sabha Election Predictions

As the voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 concluded on Saturday, June 1, the focus has now shifted to the eagerly awaited exit polls. Exit polls are expected to commence as soon as the final vote is cast in the polling booths. As the countdown begins, both stakeholders—the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition INDIA bloc—are filled with confidence, each asserting their anticipated victory.

What is Exit Polls

 

An exit poll is a post-election survey designed to gauge the national mood. It provides an opinion poll indicating how many seats a political party is likely to win. It's important to note that exit polls are not the same as official election results. The official Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 will be declared on June 4 by the Election Commission of India.

When will Exit Polls be Released?

Media houses will begin releasing exit polls after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. Exit polls can only be released after voting for an election has concluded. The Election Commission imposed a ban on exit polls between 7 a.m. on April 19 and 6:30 p.m. on June 1, 2024.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Overview

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 were conducted in seven phases, starting from April 17 and concluding on June 1. The elections covered 543 Lok Sabha seats across the country. The results of the Lok Sabha Elections will be officially announced on June 4.

Simultaneous Assembly Elections

In addition to the Lok Sabha Elections, assembly elections were also held simultaneously in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. The results for the assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are expected to be declared on June 2, while results for Andhra Pradesh and Odisha will be announced on June 4.
