Exit polls could not predict the results with accuracy: Capt Amarinder Singh

Chandigarh: Polling in the seven-phased Lok Sabha Elections 2019 concluded ad Exit polls are also out. Most of the opinion polls projected that BJP-led NDA may register a thumping victory in the Lok Sabha elections with a clear or near-clear majority. However, in Punjab, the Congress is predicted to rout the BJP by winning 9-10 seats out of the total 13. Rebuffing the exit polls released by various media organisation on Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh questioned the accuracy of the surveys.

Chief Minister said, “After 50 years in politics, I saw no reason to believe the exit polls, which just could not predict the results with accuracy.”

He further added, “With so much experience, even if I go around Punjab to gauge the voter swing, I would not be able to do it with complete accuracy. So how can these exit polls be accurate?”

Exit Polls: Congress Likely to end up with less than 100 seats

Punjab CM further exuded confidence that the Congress would project a better performance in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He also said that the Congress party will get more than the 9 or 10 seats in Punjab.

Je also thanked voters of Punjab for ensuring smooth, peaceful, free and fair conduct of the elections.
