Balod: A horrific road accident took place in Balod, Chhattisgarh. Three members of a family, including a teenage girl, were died and several others injured after their car collided with a truck in Chhattisgarh's Balod district, police said on Friday. An officer told here that the incident took place on Thursday night near Sahagaon village under Dondilohara police station area. The family was returning home after visiting Dongargarh in neighboring Rajnandgaon district. He said that the deceased have been identified as Champa Sahu (42), his mother Ahilya and daughter Khushi (16), residents of Gidhli village in Dondilohara area. According to preliminary reports, Champa had bought a new car on Wednesday and the next day he took his family members to the pilgrimage center Dongargarh. When they were returning home, their car rammed into a buffalo before hitting a truck coming from the opposite direction, killing 3 of the 6 persons on the spot. Three other family members – Champa's father, his wife and one of their children have sustained serious injuries. A police team reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem and the three injured persons were taken to the nearest hospital. He said that the injured persons were later referred to a hospital in Rajnandgaon for further treatment. The officer said that a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is on.
