Lost father in Tsunami, Mother also..., PM narrates a painful story

New Delhi: David Beckham is also set to stake a medal for India at the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham. Now you must have been shocked to hear that Beckham is going to play for India, how will it be? In fact, this Beckham is an Indian cyclist. Who comes from Andaman and Nicobar and is going to land for India in the cycling event of the Commonwealth Games. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to some of the players who took part in the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday, Beckham was one of them. PM Modi's first question was also about the name of the Indian cyclist.

PM Modi asked, "Your name is named after a famous football player. But you do cycling. People will also give you their opinion about playing football. Don't you ever think you should play football?'' In response to this question, Indian cyclist David Beckham has said, "I come from Andaman and Nicobar. There's not a lot of scope for football here. There is a lack of means. So despite having a passion for this sport, I couldn't get it as a career.''

 

Beckham lost his parents at an early age: The story of Indian cyclist  David is nothing short of an inspiration. When he was one and a half years old, he lost his father in the tsunami in Andaman and Nicobar. A few years later, Beckham also left his mother. She also died. Even after suffering such a big shock in life, Beckham was not scattered and started working to groom his career as a player.

Prime Minister Modi also encouraged the player for this and asked how he is able to keep himself motivated despite such adverse circumstances. To this, Beckham said, "In difficult circumstances, friends always encouraged me and never let me back down. They always tell me that you have to win a medal. It is on the basis of their enthusiasm and people's expectations that I have travelled from Andaman to India's cycling team.''
